Sundays Feb. 20 & 27, 2022, 1 - 3 p.m. (Two 2-hour classes)
About the class:
Grown-ups, grab your favourite sewing buddy (age 9+) and join us for two lovely afternoons of sewing together. We'll learn the basics of using your sewing machine, practice basic skills, and in the second class you'll each make a simple project of your choosing (e.g., tote bag, scrunchie, face mask... pattern provided!).
No sewing experience is required! (That said, if you already love to sew we can help you work on more advanced projects and techniques.)
Instructor: Becky Swainson. Becky loves teaching kids (and adults) to sew, and believes strongly in the value of shared creative connection and in the confidence that comes from kids learning to sew!
Supplies: Bring your sewing machine and manual, and a basic set of sewing notions (scissors, pins, thread, seam ripper, etc.). Sewing machines are also available to rent at an additional cost if you don't have your own (contact make 1 prior to the class to arrange rental). A detailed supply list will be sent out upon registration.
** Receive 10% off all fabric and notions purchased for this class at make 1, and on the day of your classes! Fabric is not included in the workshop cost, because choosing your own fabric is part of the fun of sewing. :) **
*Note: All Covid-19 precautions apply - attendance is limited to allow for adequate distancing, and each attendee will have their own workstation, tools, iron and ironing board. Masks are mandatory, and proof of vaccination is required for all participants.
