Ditch the wrapping paper this year and learn to make eco-friendly, reusable drawstring gift bags! You'll learn a few simple techniques and go home with a bag (or a few) you'll use for years to come (along with printed instructions showing how to do it

Instructor: Becky Swainson

Level: Beginner - you should know the basics of how to use your sewing machine and be able to sew a straight line - that's it!

- Bring your sewing machine and manual (or you can rent one here for an additional cost), along with thread and basic sewing kit (scissors, seam ripper, etc.)

- Bring your own fabric to upcycle, or pick out some beautiful new fabric to buy at the make 1 studio. 1/2 m of fabric will make a decent-sized bag (or two small ones), but pajama pants, a holiday table cloth, or a vintage sheet would all work! (I've used all of the above to make gift bags.) Stick with woven fabrics for this project, and bring them washed and pressed, if possible. I will have ribbons and string available, or feel free to bring your own.
