Sick of sewing masks and ready to sew up some fun holiday gifts for your friends and family (or yourself)? Learn the magical "burrito method" to make a beautiful pillowcase for your bed pillow. This is a perfect beginner project to build your sewing confidence (or a quick, fun project for a more advanced sewist).
Instructor: Becky Swainson
Number of spots: Min. 2/Max. 3 participants
Level: Beginner - you should know the basics of how to use your sewing machine and be able to sew a straight line - that's it!
- Bring your sewing machine and manual (or you can rent one here for an additional cost), along with thread and basic sewing kit (scissors, pins, seam ripper, etc.)
- Quilting cotton fabric: 0.75 m of main pillowcase fabric , 0.25 m of cuff fabric, and a 2" strip of accent fabric for a decorative accent strip (optional - but very nice). If you would like the main body and the cuff to match, you'll just need 1 m of that fabric.
Bring your own fabric, or pick out some beautiful new fabric at the make 1 studio (wait till you see our Christmas fabric this year... perfect for matching festive pillowcases!).
*You'll receive 10% off fabric and notions purchased for this class at make 1, and 10% off all fabric and notions on the day of the class!*
Note: Covid-19 precautions apply. This workshop is limited to 3 participants to allow for adequate distancing, and each participant will have their own workstation, iron and ironing board, and tools. Masks are mandatory!
