Yes, you CAN sew knit fabric without a serger! Learn the basics of sewing with stretch fabric, including all the tips, tricks, and notions you'll need to conquer knits and expand your skills. The Mile End Sweatshirt, from Canadian indie pattern darlings Closet Core, is a great beginner project for learning the basics of sewing cozy knits with your domestic sewing machine.

Difficulty: Advanced Beginner (No previous garment sewing experience is necessary, but confident basic sewing skills, including following a simple pattern and sewing curves, will be helpful.)

Bring your sewing machine and manual, and a basic set of sewing notions (scissors, pins, thread, seam ripper, etc.). Sewing machines are also available to rent by the hour at an additional cost if you don't have your own (contact make 1 prior to the class to arrange rental). A detailed supply list will be sent out upon registration.
*Note: Covid-19 precautions apply - attendance is limited to allow for adequate distancing, and each attendee will have their own workstation, tools, iron and ironing board. Masks are mandatory in the studio.
